About Medals: Medals hail half from Brooklyn NY and half from a small seaside town in MA. The band grew out of the breakup of Brooklyn post punk/new new wave band The Jaguar Club, which featured Medals' main men Yoichiro Fujita and William Popadic. The pair tapped into their shared interests in electronic music, 60's pop, and folk music to create their first album 'Dancing In Ceremony' which was released in March of 2011.
The album was primarily self recorded at the band's makeshift studio in DUMBO Brooklyn, though they received some assistance from Nick Stumpf at The Love Boat. For mixing and mastering (and bonus drumming) they turned to longtime collaborator Kevin McMahon at Marcata Recording in upstate NY. |
