About Joshua Lutz: All music/lyrics and recorded instruments by Joshua M. Lutz (more commonly known as JML). The son of trumpet player Mark Lutz, a South African native who has played with The Supremes, Temptations, Dionne Warrick and many other musicians. At age 3, JML was already studying formal piano along with many eccentric forms of Jazz, such as John Coltrane's intricate "Giant Steps". As he grew older, he immersed himself in musical genres ranging from the Classic Rock to Bossa Nova, culminating in Punk Rock bands such as The Descendants and The Circle Jerks. JML's eclectic tastes have certainly influenced his musical blend of Rock and Roll Frappe. Every instrument you hear here is written and performed by JML. His music is best described as having a Jazzy, Weezer-esque sound reminiscent of Jeff Buckley's earnest nature, Elliott Smith's raw emotion, and the grit of a 1989 Black Flag mosh pit. After 14 years of bringing his fresh and unique sound to various venues, JML has been mixing his latest single, "Jasmin," at the world famous Electric Lady Studios in New York City with sound engineer Charlie Stavish (Foo Fighters, Interpol, Say Anything) published by BMI under Joshuas Javelin Music. While JML has assisted on sessions such as Lil Wayne, D'Angelo, Chamillionaire, and Pharoahe Monch Single, he is focusing on blossoming as an artist.
